Summary/Abstract: Article is dealing with aims, role and achievements of the Stability Pact (SP) in the South Eastern Europe, established in June 1999. In the introduction, it is said that the SP already represents a third generation of regional initiatives undertaken in the Balkans with the aim to improve multilateral cooperation and integration. The SP is compared with the similar undertaking proposed by the EU in 1993 for the Central and Eastern European countries. In the following sections, there is detailed presentation and analysis of the organization and activities of the SP in the 1999 and 2000. Activities of all tree working tables are analyzed, as well as the role of the "Donors Conferences", which are connected to the SP but have separate organizational framework.
