Summary/Abstract: In the 21st century, creativity is recognized as the main driver of economic growth. Considering that creative potentials can be realized and improved in the teaching environment through learning and teaching, it is the school's duty to create the conditions for this. Creativity is key in the education of all students, especially gifted ones. The responsibility for designing pedagogical activities for cultivating creativity belongs to the teacher. A teacher's readiness for creative teaching, noticing, monitoring and evaluating creative endeavors depends on his knowledge, understanding, abilities, skills and values, that is, his commitment to empowering children and young people with skills that will help them become successful and responsible people. The aim of the research was to examine teachers' views on encouraging creativity in the teaching process. 50 classroom teachers from elementary schools in Sarajevo Canton took part in the research. The results showed that teachers have positive attitudes about all the dimensions in question: explicit teaching about/for creativity/s, providing opportunities for choice, discovery and research, encouraging intrinsic motivation in students, creating a learning environment that promotes creativity and using imagination and fantasy during learning.
