Summary/Abstract: This article presents an outline of the spirituality of the daily life of the laity as interpreted by the holy prelate Josemaria Escriva de Balaguer, whose teaching is the foundation of the activity of Opus Dei, which conducts the formation of lay people, most often involved in work and family responsibilities. This spirituality, supported by the Bible and the teachings of the Apostolic Fathers and was from the beginning a novelty in the traditional pastoral message and is still proving to be a help to thousands of members and supporters of the Work today. The intuitions of St Josemaria Escriva have been fully confirmed by the teaching of Vaticanum II.
