Summary/Abstract: The issue of the Church’s stance toward the Holocaust is yet to be fully researched. The article is a voice in the discussion about the conduct of the Catholic clergy during the German occupation, with particular attention to those actions which aimed at helping the Jews. The following is a case study focusing on two priests from the Sandomierz diocese: Bishop Jan Kanty Lorek and Rev. Ignacy Życiński.
