Summary/Abstract: In the period from 2009 to 2012, the Russian Federation conducted a series of activities aimed at offering support for the integrating countries which had been affected by the crisis. This policy focused mainly on the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan. Kazakhstan, as a country which is much more stable in terms of economics and having significant raw material resources, remained outside the main area of operation. Russia’s actions resulted from the following three conditions which are the subject of the analysis conducted in the article: 1. The Russian Federation recognizes the economic integration in the Eurasian Economic Community as one of the priorities in its foreign policy. 2. Foreign investment made by Russia in the EurAsEC countries strengthens Russia’s position and influences these countries. 3. Such a policy is a component of Russia’s positive image creation and of the Russian soft power throughout the Commonwealth of Independent States and beyond. The project has been financed with the funds of the National Science Centre provided on the basis of decision no. DEC-2011/03/B/HS4/05/930.
