Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present Japanese business communication model and the influence on the level of the openness of Japanese economy on the process of globalization. Japan is a very interesting example of an insular country, resource-poor, to some extent closed to trade and foreign investment, but on the other hand one of the most developed economy in the world. Culture of this country, strictly enforced and respected social norms can create some barriers for the process of globalization but also a long-term closure to the world can cause the acceleration of this process in the Land of the Rising Sun.
