Summary/Abstract: The locality or place may be the same as the branded product, service, person, company, event. A locality or place may be the same as a branded product, service, person, company, event. Very few municipalities and cities are perceived as a brand in a particular context. The subject of this paper is to understand the theoretical bases of the destination marketing concept. The aim is to point out the importance of the concept of holistic marketing in the development of destinations, because the image is considered one of the key factors in the decision of tourists which destination to visit, its importance in the tourism industry is huge. Therefore, all tourist developed countries and those that are trying to become ones are very careful about improving their image.
