Summary/Abstract: In the simplest terms, the profiling technique represents the inference of the distinctive features of the criminal through the analysis of physical and behavioral evidence. By analyzing physical evidence resulting from criminal activity, such as hair, semen and many more, the profiler can deduce the offender’s sex, hair color, race. Such inferences, given the high degree of confidence in this evidence, should form the initial core of any forensic psychological profile. Similarly, behavioral evidence leads to inferences about the offender’s background, habits and personality. The methodology of behavioral evidence analysis states that the examination of behavioral evidence manifested in the commission of a crime, correlated with the examination of the physical and psychological features of the criminal, may reveal certain patterns or tendencies of his behavior. Certain psychological traits can be found throughout the criminal career, others are situationally determined and each of them can evolve or involute.
