CONCEPT, ORIGIN AND DEVELOPMENT OF CONSTITUTIONAL LAW

Summary/Abstract: In this article the author deals with four groups of questions. The first group deals with the concept of constitutional law, constitutional law as a branch of the legal system and with constitutional law as legal-political science. In the second group, the author analyses the origin of constitutional law and its establishment as a separate branch of the legal system and a particular scientific and pedagogical discipline. The third group of questions deals with the historic development of constitutional law, from the appearance of the first element of constitutional law to the contemporary phases of development. Within this framework, the author particularly deals with the development of constitutional law in old and new Yugoslavia. In the fourth group of questions, the author elaborates the contribution of professor Jovan Đorđević to the development of Constitutional Law and constitutional theory. In regard to this, the author is of the opinion that the contribution of prof. Jovan Đorđević to the development of constitutional law is reflected in the following: the enlargement of the subject of constitutional law' science, the introduction of new principles and institutions of the constitutional system and the enrichment of the contents of constitutional law; the forming of a theoretical fund as an analytical framework for empirical research of the constitutional system and its seg ments; the development of comparative constitutional law and its internacionalization; the broadcast of the truth of the Yugoslav Constitutional Law tho the world; forming of professional and scientific personnal in the field of legal and political sciences.
