Summary/Abstract: The study targets the meaning of the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats for the safeguard of the protected natural territories. It refers the legal measures, regulated by this convention, which affects the defence of the biological diversity, including in the scope of the protected natural areas. Finally, there are some general conclusions and recommendations related to the examined international law regulation.
