Summary/Abstract: The journalist and essayist Krsta Cicvaric dealt with the problem of social processes, organisation of the state and state power, trade unions and anarchism in his political papers. He wrote about famous persons from recent Serbian history (Skerlic), about Serbian legal writers (Slobodan Jovanovic, Zivojin Peric), and various social problems of his time. His ideological beliefs spread from anarchism to socialism, although they were often unclear and contradictory. His views on the problem of "bureaucratic" and "free" socialism as well as the idea that democracy and socialism are inseparable and interlinked are very interesting. Cicvaric confronts trade unions as the form of political gathering with political parties. By dealing with the problem of national freeing of Serbs he emphasises that only the general revolution is the way to free Serbs. Although he did not make an original scientific contribution, the importance of his public work lies in the fact he examined almost all social phenomena of his time.
