Summary/Abstract: Abstract. The theme on "Concrete" in the cultural section of the daily magazine "Danas" has the aim to shed light on the contemporary and literary scene in Serbia from the angle of reactions of this part of society to a radical criticism published in "Concrete"; this criticism identifies and deconstructs the nationalistic ideology and the artistic unproductiveness in the sphere of culture. As the dominant characteristics of today in Serbian society and culture "Concrete" emphasises the lack of confronting with the war of the 1990s, the opportunism, the lack of fair and competent negative criticism, the destruction of magazines and cultural institutions. This theme is composed of generic heterogeneous texts which go from analytical to satirical texts. The theme demonstrates in which way knowledgeable, sharp and true debates on serious issues of aesthetic, criticism and ideology which are initiated by "Concrete".
