Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to examine the research conducted related to the psychological intimidation experienced by those who perform the teacher profession in educational institutions. The definition of psychological intimidation was first used by Konrad Lorenz in the second half of the twentieth century to describe the behaviors and attitudes that animals exhibit in order to kidnap rivals or strangers they see. Today, this definition has taken its place in the literature with names such as emotional harassment, mental violence, emotional bullying, psycho-terrorism in its main sense. In Turkish, this definition is called emotional bullying or psychological intimidation in institutions. The results of the studies carried out on psychological intimidation in many Western countries recently show to what extent the phenomenon of intimidation in question has reached an important dimension. The common focus that all the research and review results conducted internationally can reach is that those who are victims of intimidation in question are more numerous than those who are victims of other pressure, bullying and harassment. Psychological intimidation is evaluated as a factual dimension experienced in every cultural layer and social strata and institutions of all kinds, without any difference in age, gender and hierarchy.
