Summary/Abstract: Functioning in the conditions of extremely cumbersome and inefficient administration, lack of economic prospects and mutual distrust between Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats, after years of war, Bosnia and Herzegovina is becoming a country where the idea of a common nation becomes almost impossible. Its cultural and historical borderline position, which traces its path of development since the twelfth century, once again puts it at a crossroads between its yesterday and its tomorrow. Where will it go? Will it restart the fragmentation of the Balkans or it will preserve its territorial integrity? A question whose answer largely depends on the (in)ability of the international community engaged with the fate of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to motivate national communities in its territory for joint future.
