Summary/Abstract: The present article evokes the writer Nicolae Cartojan’s life and work. His vocation was in the area of documents, old and less read texts, exciting manuscripts or prints made with great art in our churches and monasteries. N. Cartojan was involved in the complex approach to numerous texts of ancient literature, prints, manuscripts or popular books, that he brought back to a new life, through studies and editions of great erudition, which will revive the interest in ancient religious literature at a national level. His research focused on the cultural eras marked by the Romanian effort to create its own architectural style during the time of Constantin Brâncoveanu, the effort to print the Bible from Bucharest under Şerban Cantacuzino, or the proposal of new ways of historical recording of the events of the time, which improved the old chronicling style of the ancestors, a fact that happened during the time of Constantin Cantacuzino.
