Summary/Abstract: The present article is an evocation of Bishop Ioan Mihălţan, who, after being a parish priest and celibate priest in his native village in Transylvania and after finishing his studies and a doctorate abroad, became a lecturer for the department of Mission and Ecumenism at the Theological Institute in Sibiu and later bishop of Oradea. Pastoral experience made him avoid the traps of scholasticism that many clerics fell into. He was also a man of culture who published three volumes of aphorisms. He spoke a beautiful Romanian language.
