Church of St. George- Voroneţ, brief analysis through the eyes of a painter

Summary/Abstract: The present study follows the development of the iconographic program ofVoronet in all the component spaces of the church, trying to discern the thematic links and analyze the plastic and technical components that make it up. Through the three successive stages of painting, this monument is a testimony of the evolution of art in Moldova in the 15th - 16th centuries, offering enough topics for study, both to art historians, painters and restorers. The iconographic theme is not studied exhaustively, in this case, but rather the component parts of the whole are traced in order to understand how the Stefanian painters and those after them, related to the art they practiced. We believe that this church, along with many others, can constitute a landmark that must be exploited in the process of renewing contemporary liturgica!spaces with pictorial garment.
