Summary/Abstract: The intensity in port operations also by the nature of port services number of workers and time of work is very little because it is the most preferred way of maritime transportation, therefore safety should be an essential factor for workers as well as for the environment. Because of the work hours and the activities port operations embodies a lot of risk factors. One of the most important risk factors; material handling and storing operations are huge risks on their own, the results of not calculating the risk factors and inadequate safety precautions also when you consider the accidents that happened will result in many deaths and environmental disasters. Alongside this huge disaster, the damage of operations shows how important is to analyse the risk factors in material handling and storing. Here, the main purpose of working, shows that port operations must identify the risk factors in terms of safety that are related to dangerous material handling Also the other purpose of working is to identify the managerial precautions that must be applied in order to identified risk factors not happen. For these purposes, Fine Kenny and FMEA with the risk analysing methods determined the risk factors in material handling and storing. At the end of the research, to minimize the risk factors, essential improver and preventive actions are identified and made suggestions about creating a safer working environment in port operations.
