Summary/Abstract: The paper adresses the means of expressing concessivity in Standard Croatian. Concessivity is based on relation: cause – condition – opposition – negation. In this paper concessivity is described at the level of complex sentence, compound sentence, text and at the syntagmatic level. Prescriptive manuals of Croatian language, as well as those of foreign literature, were used for this analysis of concessive meaning and its means of expressing.
