Summary/Abstract: This study aims to analyze the first phase of the RF’s military operation against Ukraine in terms of principles of war. The main claim of the study is that the RF misjudged the possibilities and capabilities of its own and the Ukrainian Armed Forces, neglected most of the principles of war in the planning and execution of the military operation, and as a result, it was not as successful as expected in the first phase of its military operation.
