Summary/Abstract: Based on the study of co-workers’ leisure time in the Vilnius environs, covering approximately 1950 to 2017, the dual effect of holidays in bringing together and separating ethnic groups of co-workers is investigated. Semi-structured interviews and historical-comparative and interpretive methods were used. After describing the research area, highlighting the ethnic uniqueness of celebrating holidays, and discussing the assumptions of ethnic differentiation to celebrate them, holidays were identified that unite the collaborators of all ethnic groups and that highlight different attitudes and formed identities of members of ethnic groups.
