Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of this article is a description of research into subdialectal vocabulary in time of changes and globalization. The article contains conclusions of geographical research carried out by the author since 2011 in the area of Wręczyca Wielka community near Klobuck in the north of Silesia. The first part of the article provides a short description of the impact of civilization and cultural transformations coupled with globalization processes on the vocabulary in the language spoken in rural areas. The specificity of field research from the first half of the 20th century has also been shown. In the second part of the article, the author shows the difficulties faced by contemporary researchers and suggests a few methodological solutions which can simplify collection of the lexical material
