Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the financial contribution of Ducal Prussia to the military effort of the Commonwealth during the war with Moscow and military confederations (1609–1618). It analyses both the scope of official assistance, agreed by a treaty, and that obtained in an unauthorized manner by the Commonwealth’s authorities which took the form of extortionate provisioning of military stations and the damage done in the process.
