Summary/Abstract: Five decades after Rome EEC Treaty and fifteen years after Maastricht Agreement, EU is reached in crisis, for which some consider that is even deeper than it appeared at first glance and which has few faces. We can denote them as threefold crisis: crisis of institutional reforms of EU, crisis of economic growth in member states, and crisis further enlargement to the rest of Europe. The scope of crisis opens some of the main questions of EU, as a specific political project, as well as question of political definition of EU, i.e., determining of political identity and its final aims. In the member states is launched general issue what is aim of European integration in XXI century - in epoch of globalization - after resolving, it seems, of chapter concerned on political unifying of continent overcoming dichotomy "West-East". In this paper, author considers each of tree aspects of EU crisis, and after those points at potential perspectives of possible new widening of EU on Western Balkans, as well as the place of Serbia in this frame.
