Summary/Abstract: From the autumn of 1949 through the summer of 1950, the anti-communist attitude of the peasants in the Vlașca county became even more radical. Some of the underlying causes were the attempt made by the communist regime to abolish private property, the extremely high quotas the state required of the peasants, the way they were forced to join the collective farms and many other abuses.
