Summary/Abstract: In an extremely short period of time, from August 23, 1944 until the signing of the peace Treaty, the Romanian army was dramatically cut, from 50 to seven divisions and the number of troops from 1.1 million to 13,800. By de-structuring the Romanian army and changing the army corps, the Soviets were able to take control more efficiently, using their specific means.
