Summary/Abstract: This text is a reconstruction of the experimental theory of writing/historiography by Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht from the book In 1926. Living at the Edge of Time (1997). In this very book, the literary scholar took the phenomena from the title year, like ‘boxing’ or ‘elevators’, and discussed them in the most objective way, using written sources from the era (including daily newspapers). In such a perspective other annual dates can be described in a similar way, like the year 1964 in Szczecin. It will be neither better nor worse than any other moment in the timeline.
