Records of the Macedonian chalgia in the urban archives

Summary/Abstract: Research related with the Macedonian chalgia shows that a few researchers kept valuable data (most of them are interviews and audio tapes with chalgia performance) in the urban archives. For the broader insight into this topic, with the aim to see the whole picture with the existing documentation through the archives, we made the researches in a few relevant institutions which have the possibility to keep this kind of material, but the main focus was at the “Marko Cepenkov” Institute of Folklore in Skopje, one of the richest archives with numerous magnetic tapes with this kind of material. Of course, additional research should be done in other urban archives, including the private ones, especially in the capital city of Skopje, but that remains for some future research
