Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze the causes and nature of constitutional changes in the form of government in modern Ukraine. In the article the genesis of the form of government in Ukraine according to the content of the Constitutional Treaty of June 8, 1995, the Constitution of Ukraine of June 28, 1996 and the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine” of December 8, 2004 is examined. The legal features have been analyzed and an attempt has been made to correctly classify all variations of the form of government adopted in Ukraine.
