Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the concept of the legislative power of Ukrainian people and their constitution as a material embodiment of this idea. The author analyzes such key moments of the modern constitutional history of Ukraine as the adoption of the Constitutional Treaty of June 8, 1995, the Constitution of Ukraine of June 28, 1996, and the Amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine Act of December 8, 2004. In terms of the concept of legislative power, the Decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine of September 30, 2010 and the activity of the Constitutional Assembly formed in 2012 by Viktor Yanukovych are investigated. The article also considers the issue of the constitutionality and legitimacy of the procedure for modifying the wording of the original Constitution of Ukraine of December 8, 2004 in 2014 during the Revolution of Dignity.
