Summary/Abstract: Our article follows a less conventional line of study for the research of the Romanian Middle Ages, namely the historical and social analysis of this period in terms of ideology and ideological processes that mark the second half of the ninth century in the southeastern part of Europe. We will try, in the following pages, to show that in this geographical area and in this chronological arc there is a generalized movement at the level of what we can call the “Slavic world”, a tendency to absorb the Constantinopolitan ideology, and that we have reason to believe this movement affected the political formations of 9th century Transilvania.
