Summary/Abstract: This article examines the phenomenon of what is known as digital regionalism in the context of Western Pomerania. In its broadest sense, digital regionalism involves the use of information and communication technologies, especially social media, to popularize local characteristics, that is, its history, culture and traditions. Digital regionalism is therefore a socio-technological phenomenon, at the core of which is the activity of amateurs who use their presence on social platforms to promote the history of their local communities. Contemporary regionalism is thus individual in nature and is based on the digital skills of Internet users. The article defines digital regionalism and its most distinctive features. It also outlines the basic types of regionalist initiatives that can be found in contemporary social media. The main part of the article analyzes and describes the most common online regionalist initiatives relating to the area of West Pomerania and its individual cities and places.
