Summary/Abstract: The author of the text concentrates on reading Miron Białoszewski’s“logbook”, which registers the writer’s belated journey on board the “Batory” ship around Europe. However, he is not interested in the tourist “view” of the continent and its textual explication. A three-week confinement in a cabin and occasional meditative “trips” a shore allow Białoszewski to make interesting testamentary, eschatological and “final”, reconciliations with himself, the world and life. The author of the article treats these practices as an intriguing “detour” – a departure from the main theme (“traveling”) of a literary work.
