Summary/Abstract: This short note presents a zoomorphic figurine discovered at a Gumelniţa Eneolithic settlement in southern Romania (Negreni village, Teleorman County). The object represents a lion and is a unique find because the material from which it is carved is alabaster. The imitative character of this zoomorphic representation provides one of the few examples of feline that would have lived in certain periods of prehistory in the area of southern Europe.
