Summary/Abstract: The construction of the railway station is related to the construction and start of operation of the First Bosnian Ammonia Soda Factory in Lukavac, from1893 to 1894. The Lukavac station was located on the Doboj-Tuzla-Simin Hannarrow-gauge railway, and was first included in the official timetable of the Bosnia-Herzegovina State Railway, which entered into force on April 19, 1894. The station building was damaged in the Second World War, rebuilt and put back into operation after its completion, only to cease operation after the construction of anormal gauge railway and a new station on the same site in 1952. Until the end of the 20th century, it was used to house the department of the Lukavac National Health Center, and after 1995, part of the building was given a residential function. Due to inadequate use, lack of maintenance and atmospheric influences, the building is neglected and devastated. In December 2015, the Old Railway Station was declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at the beginning of 2022, the Conceptual Project for its rehabilitation was completed.
