Summary/Abstract: A collection of reports from the civil war in Spain, W czerwonej Hiszpanii by Ksawery Pruszyński, was first published in 1937 while its first translation into Spanish appeared 70 years later. The article deals with the context of the reception of this book at different times and in different cultural spaces, i.e. in interwar and post-war Poland, and in Spain at the threshold of the 21st century.
