Summary/Abstract: On 25 May 2018, the Research Institute for Labour and Social Affairs hosted a workshop in the context of a long-term project on the theme of the assessment of the complexity, responsibility and difficulty of work and its application with respect to the remuneration and protection of employees. The main purpose of the workshop was to acquaint attendees with the objectives and importance of the project, as well as with the knowledge and experience gained from the project to date, and to elicit feedback, opinions and comments from the participants of the workshop on past outputs and the further focus of the research. Participants were acquainted with the importance of the classification of work and work activities in terms of complexity, responsibility and difficulty and the role and utilisation thereof in the state remuneration protection policy, in the creation of remuneration systems for workers in an employment relationship and other groups of persons in similar relationships. The workshop was attended by representatives of a wide range of institutions, such as the Ministries of Finance, Interior, Education and Labour and Social Affairs, the Office of the Public Ombudsman and Prague City Hall, and representatives of the academic sphere, i.e. the Czech Technical University and the University of Economics, Prague.
