Summary/Abstract: In June 2013, a mother named Sasha became a media celebrity after giving birth to healthy quintuplets in the thirtieth week of her pregnancy. Many people described them as "the first Czech quintuplets" since available statistical yearbooks revealed no evidence to the contrary. Then the author received an email from Dr. William Thomas of Australia which drew attention to the fact that these were not the "first" Czech quintuplets and referred her to his article published in 1960 in the journal General Practitioner named "Gemini in history, quintuplets in the Czech Lands". The article states, inter alia, that Dr. Thomas, while studying archival and register sources, discovered evidence of the first quintuplets born in the Czech lands which were almost certainly conceived naturally.
