Summary/Abstract: Following the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union in the fifth accession wave on 1 May 2004, the Czech Republic adopted not only membership but also the commitment to accept the norms of European legislation. This included the obligation to bring Czech legislation fully into line with European law. The raft of legislation included Council Directive 2000/78/EC which establishes a general framework for equal treatment in the field of employment. The analysis covers the process, methodology and results of the transposition of EU Directive 2000/78/EC into the Czech Anti-Discrimination Act.
