Summary/Abstract: Conflicts occur on a daily basis in Romani communities. Regardless of the conflicts’ different origins, very often the insults hurled escalate into mass violations of public order and inflict severe damages to the life and health of some of the participants in such conflicts. The work performed by the officers at the Territorial Police Office is essential to avoiding and timely preventing the occurrence of conflicts in Romani communities, thus preventing any harmful consequences thereof. It is through timely implementation of various measures – preventive, security, supervisory, educational, etc. that every single stage of a conflict may be addressed – prior to its occurrence, when it has already occurred, and before it has produced any consequences. This article organizes and summarizes the practical experience gained through the work done by the Territorial Police Office. The examined reasons leading to conflicts in small-town and village Romani communities have been established in the course of the officers’ work and are not exhaustive. The major objective of this article is to examine the effective prevention of conflicts in Romani communities by the Territorial Police Office, with a focus on the conducted activates and the major difficulties encountered in the implementation thereof.
