Summary/Abstract: This work presents and interprets some of the important aspects of Šarčević’s ethics of human rights, with which the possibilities of understanding a new ethos and culture of human rights, derived from humanistic contexts in relation to the concepts: world ethos, tolerance and freedom, are given. With his work The audacity of freedom. The ethics of human rights Šarčević will write one of his most impressive philosophical and ethical writings, which leads to new insights into the ethos of human rights as part of his conception of humanism. Essentially, these are the questions that Šarčević classifies in the body of questions of modern and planetary ethical theory, questions within the analysis of the state of consciousness of modern humanity and man in which anticipations of the future are lacking, how can ethical judgments and moral ways of acting be created in that situation with an impact on life, reality, along with striving towards the need to actualize the issues of human dignity, excellence and justice, as well as personal and public freedoms, which can only reaffirm the values of human beings.
