Summary/Abstract: The challenges arising from the global health crisis have revealed the importance of health capital. Referring to the multidimensional definition by Anna Schneider-Kamp [2021], we analyze the actual and potential resources making health capital available to Poles during the pandemic. First, we discuss the importance of health literacy for preservation of good health and searching for reliable information on the pandemic. Second, we take up the issues of strategies that women and men in Poland use to manage the pandemically changed life. Based on the available research, we also analyze how the social and economic capitals have influenced the social field of health. We address it by referring to the pandemic challenges of family, professional and individual lives. Assuming that the attitude towards vaccinations against COVID-19 is an indicator of how the health capital has been applied, we verify the attitudes of Polish men and women towards the coronavirus vaccine. Finally, we review health educational materials and programs created in Poland during the pandemic by the state and non-governmental organizations. In our closing remarks we discuss which of them have a chance to contribute to the development of health capital, and which appear to be fake activities.
