Summary/Abstract: The analysis of social isolation and loneliness presented in the article relates to economic migrants. Social isolation and loneliness are not identical terms. Social isolation refers to an objective condition of absence of close relations with other people, while loneliness describes subjective feeling of lack of close, emotional bonds. Migrants being on different stages of the migration process experience social isolation and loneliness which can affect their lower social performance and mental condition, as well as it can influence their physical health. The article presents studies regarding relations between loneliness/social isolation and health in the migration context and results of my own study among Internet chat users regarding loneliness and isolation issues. The analysis covered the Internet comments published between 2009–2021.
