Summary/Abstract: The article presents selected problems concerning violations of Human Rights in Cuba. It explains the basis on which the revolutionary Cuban government had military leaders, “inconvenient” Cubans and citizens of different countries arrested, sentenced or condemned to many years of imprisonment. All of them had critical attitude towards activities of Fidel's Castro government. This article aims at presenting the relationship between the Cuban government and Cuban citizens. The topic of this article is important for social and legal reasons; it also has an international meaning. Widespread human rights violations on Cuba have forced the EU in 2003 to suspend any relation with the Cuban government. The present article presents citizen's rights and obligations which are mainly violated by Cuban authorities. It draws the lecturer's attention to problems that Fidel Castro could not deal with such as homosexuality or political dissidents. The author points out the age-old conflict between the government and an individual. The article also covers the problem of Cuba's isolation policy.
