Summary/Abstract: The textbook is one of the most important teaching aids, but also the leading teaching aid for class work at school, and they must be precisely created. Foreign language textbooks must meet special rules in order to teach students a certain (sub)level of German as a second foreign language. Textbook errors were analysed in this paper. The textbook is called PRIMA 1 – German language textbook for the sixth grade of a nine-year primary school (second foreign language). It is the students’ first encounter with German as a second foreign language within the educational system. This paper has two goals. The first goal is to draw attention to errors in the textbook for German as a second language in the first year of study. The second goal of this paper is to be a guide for the authors of future textbooks, which will direct them towards the best possible production of textbooks with as few errors as possible.
