Summary/Abstract: The ilmihaber institution has remained on the margins of professional research, although it has been present in both administrative practice and private life. his paper aims to increase the understanding of ilmihaber institution based on the information from archives and related literature. he intention is to ind out whether this institution has grown into a traditional element and as such preserved only the ethnological characteristics of life in a certain period of the past, or remained held in the administrative practice of later systems.
