Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the complex relationships between theatre and young audiences in the first half of the 20th century in Bulgaria. An accent is put on the processes of professionalization and institutionalization of the theatre for young audiences. Important problem in range is the establishing of theatres for children as a result of special efforts and cultural policies. In focus is the idea of joining the modern European cultural traditions in the field of performing arts.
