Summary/Abstract: Farms, some kind of the economic enterprises, had an important place for the Ottoman Empire, whose economy was largely based on agriculture. In addition, the structures of the farms were began to be transformed starting from the 15th century and they were transformed into a business enterprises consisting of different units, until the last period of the Ottoman Empire. Farms; while expressing a general name within the scope of the Tımar System in Anatolia, it refers to large enterprises affiliated to the Hazine-i Hassa Administration, which were allocated to the Sultan and his family, especially in Istanbul and big cities. Huge expenditures were made in these farms for the development of agriculture and livestock but these enterprises, which were established on large lands, did not bring big profits as expected. Due to the lack of sufficient places to settle in the Anatolia, these farms became an importantalternative place for the resettlement of the large masses of immigrants, who migrated to the Ottoman lands after the Crimean War of 1853-1856 and the Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878. It can be stated that the Ottoman Empire, which acted in the direction of a planned resettlement during the immigrant resettlement process, took into account many alternatives when placing immigrants on state farms. This study is based on the idea of making an assessment about the resettlement of immigrants to state farms using Ottoman archive documents and aims to give information about the projection of the location preference in the immigrant settlement of the Ottoman Empire.
