Summary/Abstract: Purpose: Family doctors in their work are constantly faced with the influence of emotions on their activities. And the impact of emotional labor can be both negative and positive, which will directly affect the assessment of well-being and job satisfaction of doctors. In the current difficult conditions resulting from the outbreak of COVID-19 and the war, the work of doctors is accompanied by even greater pressure, which led to the purpose of this study to identify the impact of emotional labor on the well-being and job satisfaction of family doctors. Design/Method/Approach: We used primary data collected at the Primary Health Care Center of Pidhorodne City Council, Dniprovskyi district, Dnipropetrovsk region. Two-stage structural equation modeling analysis was used for data processing. Findings: Too highly emotional labor has a negative impact on well-being at the workplace and job satisfaction. At the same time, job satisfaction positively affects the level of well-being in the workplace. Theoretical Implications: This work has expanded the range of research on emotional labor of doctors by developing the following arguments: (1) the work of doctors is highly emotional; (2) emotional labor negatively affects the level of well-being in the workplace; (3) emotional labor negatively affects job satisfaction. Practical Implications: National medical programs should also focus on emotional support programs for doctors along with programs to improve their professional level. Originality/Value: We provide preliminary first evidence of the impact of emotional labor on the well-being and job satisfaction of family physicians in Ukraine. Research Limitations/Future Research: The results of the study are based on a small sample, which is limited by the number of doctors in the medical center. Further research should be aimed at assessing the organizational support system for family physicians.
