Summary/Abstract: It is observed that in the publications on the transcription of the 18th century historical texts, the spoken language that shows the development and change of the historical Turkish in Turkey is not taken into consideration, and only non-changing, structured written language and classical punctuation is regarded. Even if the studies that are conducted without considering this change and transformation can explain the historical events, the published transcription documents are far from reflecting the Turkish of the period. In this study that we have conducted to contribute to the solution of the problem, at first, the vowels, consonants and affixes, which we consider that they will help us have an idea about the spoken language of the term, have been identified. Then, the sample words including these vowels, consonants and affixes have been analysed together with their punctuations and pronunciations in the Göynüklü Ahmed History, an exemplary historical text written in the 18th century, and Viguier and Carbognano’s Turkish grammar books, which were mainly written in Latin letters. Following that, the samples in the three sources were analysed in a comparative way, and it was aimed to explain how the most common affixes, verbs, nouns and other words were used in the written and spoken language. In the conclusions, in the light of all this information, identifications and recommendations concerning the issues, which need to be paid attention, were presented.
